What a scuba day!

February7

This morning we had an early start to go on our PADI Discovery scuba
dive! It was fantastic! We went out to an island off Nha Trang for the
first dive which lasted about 30mins at 6 meters (the lowest you can
go at our novice level). We then moved on to another site & given the
opportunity to do a 2nd dive (extra $20 each) which we couldn’t pass
up. Another 30mins down there where we saw foot-long sticky type fish,
big bright yellow fish, moray eels etc etc as well as beautiful coral.

We both loved it & now considering whether to do the full PADI course
so we can do more.

Knackered now so having a siesta! xx

PS – Good luck to Hull City against Chelsea later on. We’ll be waching if we can!

Hello you two. The diving sounds just wonderful. I think the chance to do the full PADI course is a must if you can fit it in.
Thanks for the good wishes for the Tigers – I’ll pass it on to Phil… Funny to think you might watch the game live and we can’t! Although as it is Chelsea you might be better off with those fish!

Hey guys – definitely do the qualification, it is so worth it, but seriously, you should wait until you get to Thailand. Go to Koh Tao – there are loads of 5 star PADI centres there and it is one of the chepaest places in the world you can get your qualification, plus it is some of the THE BEST diving in the world and the island has a great vibe about it to spend a few days. We stayed at the Sairee Beach area – that´s where all the dive centres are and some great restaurants. We went diving with Big Blue, http://www.bigbluediving.com/ who were very professional, but there are loads of suppliers so it might be worth your while to shop around once you are there, rather than book advance. Do not stay at their resort though, their rooms are minging. There are some more nice but more backpacker pricey options for accomodation along the beach, but for good value, clean accomodation we stayed at the Sairee Cottage resort, it was very central and good value for money. Enjoy the diving…..it´s very addictive! Steph & Rob x
